Hello, I am Geri Leiter. I am a Board Member with GCR.

About Geri...

Geri Leiter is a long-time resident of Oak Park, Michigan, (a suburb of Detroit), where she resides with her partner of 25 years.

She worked as a telecommunications specialist for AT&T for 30 years. After retiring from AT&T, she  developed and began a Personal Transportation Service entitled, "Geri's Journeys", which still operates to this day.

Geri surrendered her life to the worship and service of Jesus Christ at age 16 and was very involved within the Assemblies of God Church for many years. An accomplished vocalist, Geri used her voice for evangelistic ministry, being asked to speak and sing at various Assembly of God Churches throughout Michigan.  She also sang professionally with various groups and as a soloist at a variety of events and venues.

As God would have it, Geri eventually connected with the Metropolitan Community Church in Flint, Michigan, where she served as Choir Director, soloist, Deacon, and teacher.

After serving in that capacity for 5 years, God called her to begin a work in Ferndale, Michigan.  She became the Co-Pastor of Bethel Christian Assembly, which operated for 6 years and had a special ministry to the LGBTQ community.

Two years ago, while searching the internet in hope of finding a Christ-centered church that had a ministry to the LGBTQ+ community, but also had a solid Bible based structure, Geri was led to Deeper Waters Christian Ministries in Beaverton, Oregon, under the teaching of Pastor Amie Tyler.

Although many miles apart, upon listening to online teachings by Amie, she knew in her spirit that this was where God was calling her to be a part.

Upon meeting Pastor Amie, (while Amie was teaching at a seminar in Port Huron, Michigan), it reaffirmed what Geri already knew and a deeper connection was made.

Geri currently sits on the board of an outreach ministry in India called Global Reconciliation For Reconciliation, which provides education, food, shelter, clothing, and most importantly teaches the Bible to the unrecognized, poor, and social outcasts there.
